History of Mideco Engineering Limited

YEAR	EVENT
1911	Frederick Parker Ltd of Leicester Founded. Today Parker Plant Ltd are one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of Stone Quarry Plant, Quarrying Equipment and Asphalt Mixing Plant.
1970s	Mideco Ltd is formed by Frederick Parker Ltd in 1975. Frederick Parker Ltd of Leicester appoints Mideco Engineering as their Division for all activities within the Middle Eastern Region. Operating under the trading name of Fred Parker Ltd – Middle East Division. Frederick Parker Ltd transfers the engineers and Management responsible for Middle Eastern activities to Mideco Ltd and they establish dedicated facilities for sales, plant installations, service and maintenance, spare parts supply. This includes overall supervision of local dealers and region offices in Baghdad, Tehran, Dubai, Jeddah and Cairo. Over the years regional offices have closed or re-located as economic and political changes have taken place.
1980s	Mideco Ltd takes its first multi million pound contract for the supply of a full range of road building machinery to the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. The contracts included Asphalt plant, Pavers, Mercedes Truck, Dynapac compaction equipment. Mideco Engineering Ltd established and formed to offer specialist products to its international civil engineering clients. Fredrick Parker Ltd enter in to administration forcing Mideco Engineering Limited to continue as an independent company. This released Mideco Engineering from its dedicated ties to Fredrick Parker and it’s markets. It forced Mideco Engineering to expand its targeted markets to encompass the world. Parker Plant Ltd starts trading again, independent of Mideco. Mideco moves to new purpose built premises. With the facility to produce, and remanufacture crushing and asphalt plants. Mideco starts to supply crushing and Asphalt plants in to its new markets including Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. Mideco Engineering Ltd purchase rights to the Parker Plant concrete mixer range. Mideco Engineering produce and supply the new range of concrete plants to the worlds markets.
1990s	Due to the requests of Mideco’s customers, the company expands its procurement services and ties up with the world’s leading brands of construction equipment. Mideco Engineering offers spare parts supply and technical services for all plant construction plant equipment. All shareholding of the company is taken over by the Chick family in 1996. Peter Chick takes over as Managing Director.
2000s	Mideco expands it procurement services and becomes the European procurement office for a Sierra Leone construction company. Procuring and delivering building materials. Projects completed include the United Nations War crimes court and prison complex. Central Bank. Major Hospital Connaught. Port and harbour warehouses. Supply a Nigerian group of companies with 3 packages of CAT earth moving machines including Dozers, Loaders graders and Dump trucks. Supply a package of road construction equipment to an Ethiopian Construction company. The package included Massenza road bitumen spray tankers, Rosco (Leeboy) Chipping spreaders, Barford site Dumpers and Messersi concrete plant. Supply Rough terrain mobile Grove Crane to Nigeria.
2010s	Supply CAT earth moving and mobile crushing equipment plant to Nigerian contractors. Supply and install NEW 120tph Asphalt plant to Nigerian contractor.
